Upper Midwest Chapter

About Us

The Upper Midwest Chapter of the Club Management Association of America (CMAA) represents the Club management profession in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Western Wisconsin. Its membership consists of over 100 Club management professionals at Country Clubs, Golf Clubs, City Clubs and Yacht Clubs.

The Upper Midwest CMAA Chapter is dedicated to education, professional development and networking. The Upper Midwest Chapter meets 8 months of the calendar year for meetings that include education and networking for attending members and guests. The November Meeting is the Chapter’s Annual Meeting that also includes board member elections, education and a food and beverage-oriented networking event.

A key component of the Chapter’s education calendar is two, six-hour workshops during the spring and in September. These workshops award CMAA member participants valuable 6 CMI credits.

Roundtable discussions are conducted during the year for Chapter members that are leaders at their Clubs. The discussion topics are determined by industry focus areas and by the attending Chapter members.

The Upper Midwest Chapter has a long-tenured, engaged relationship with the University Wisconsin-Stout in Menomonie, Wisconsin. That engagement is focused on the fall semester Club Management class curriculum. The Chapter's engagement and support include guest speakers for the fall semester curriculum and class visits to 2-chapter member clubs in the semester. The Chapter provides financial support for the fall Club Management curriculum, costs for the UW Stout Student CMAA Chapter members to attend the CMAA World Conference and other student chapter needs and activities.

The Ronald McDonald House Charities-Upper Midwest is the Chapter’s Charity-Partner. The relationship includes financial contributions that now exceed $100,000 since the inception of the relationship in 2015. Additional support of the charity includes providing lunches for the residents of the 4 Twin City ‘houses’ and other various requests throughout the year.

The annual Golf Open generates financial support for the Chapter’s education and operational initiatives as well as its supporting relationship of the Ronald McDonald House Charities-Upper Midwest. Significant financial support is provided by an extensive roster of Chapter Partners. These generous and committed partners represent businesses that market products and services to Chapter member Clubs. Details of this annual event can be found on this website on the GOLF OPEN page.
